Bio Summary – Heidi Rayden

Originally from Toronto , Canada Heidi Rayden studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City. As an actress she has worked in theatre, film & television. As a producer/writer she has worked in television, theatre & radio.


Selected Acting Credits
Heidi's most recent credits include the role of “Honey” in “ Behind the Velvet Rope ” with a successful run at the Santa Monica Studios - profits for the show were donated to Hurricane Katrina victims. She was cast in the ensemble for the 2006 L.A. V-day run of “ The Vagina Monologues ” which ran at the Directors Guild of America. * Refer to Heidi's acting resume for a full credit list.  


Writing & Producing
A diversified artist, Heidi's writing & producing credits include co-creating the magical, comedic, interactive show “ A Night at the Moulin Rouge ”. Realizing there was a niche for creative entertainment at corporate events; Heidi came up with the concept to create a “portable” scripted show. Launching the production company A-Live Interactive Productions, Heidi co-wrote & produced “ A Night at the Moulin Rouge ” booking the show for events as small as 50 people to large scale events of 500-1000people. For the past three years, Heidi has worked (on a per. project basis) as an associate producer/interviewer with acclaimed Toronto documentary filmmaker Richard Budman www.HoundsTV.com . Under Budman's tutelage she mastered her producing skills and perfected the fine art of the “guerilla style interview”. She was able to secure interviews with high profile celebrities including Michael Douglas, Adam Sandler & Dan Akroyd.

Heidi continues to work with Budman, recently working as an associate producer on the 2006 award winning documentary The Toronto Rap Project.

Prior to moving to Los Angeles , Heidi worked as a freelance writer in the communications department for the Liberal Party of Canada (government party) where she honed her writing skills in the political arena writing OPEDs & editorials for national daily newspapers across Canada.


Hosting & Producing
Working in concert with L.I.F.T – the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto ( www.lift.on.ca ), Heidi helped launch L.I.F.T.'s live radio show – Cinephile on 89.5fm ( http://www.lift.on.ca/mt/cinephile.html ). Cinephile featured live interviews with local & international filmmakers, film festival programmers and served as an informative “what's happening” forum for the independent film scene in Toronto. Producing & hosting weekly, one hour live segments, Heidi was successful in raising the profile of Cinephile through securing high profile interviews with sought after film industry professionals.  

Heidi was hired to represent Toronto's largest Speed dating company, www.25dates.com as their spokesperson appearing on several live Canadian National shows, (CTVs) " Canada AM ", " Balance ", " Toronto One " & " Life Network " in addition to hosting high profile events at local venues across Toronto.

In Los Angeles , Heidi worked in production/development as the director of content for Fun Little Movies www.funlittlemovies.com . Heidi was responsible for sourcing & distribution new content, for Fun Little Movies digital channels on Sprint-Nextell, Microsoft & Smart Video phones both in the U.S. & worldwide markets.
